Just wrong

It's a real rifle. It's making a point. Only I don't happen to agree with the point it's making. The UK has managed to stay relatively gun-free and we don't have civil unrest.

Oh, sorry, yes we do. I'm not sure putting guns in people's hands would have improved the situation though.

I'll second that. The wrong people would be much more likely to have guns than responsible people, were they available in the UK.

Imagine those rioters with guns.

That pink gun man is just weird.

I feel like having another bath after glancing through that rifle fella's blog AND the nasty comments too. Bleagh.

Lexi, it did strike me as very, very weird. It would seem rather unbelievable if it was in a story!

Kitty, it's pretty unpleasant.

I guess while people use cars as lethal weapons (intentional lethal weapons) we don't need guns. In any colour.

AJ, I'd never have thought of that!

Wow. I don't suppose I'll ever understand the US gun lobby and the whole "right to bear arms" thing.

Yikes. The whole gun mentality always did give me the willies. Why do some people thing the ability to splatter other people is so sexy? Don't get it. Urg. Creepy. I'm with Old Kitty; I need a good wash, now...

...and I do think it's a dangerous message to make a gun into a children's toy and also make it look cute and harmless. How silly is that?

So many kids kill accidentally because they think a gun is a toy. And there was a woman here in the states who (supposedly) accidentally shot her child because she thought the gun was a lighter - can you say Cold Turkey (anyone rememebr that movie?).

A long time ago someone compiled statistics that showed a large percentage of people shot during robberies were shot with their own guns. The crook didn't bring one to the party and the owner didn't know what the heck (s)he was doing. Do we believe these statistics? Who knows.

You need a license to drive but anyone can have children. And most anyone can buy a gun.

Simon, me neither.

MRP, I'm really not into guns either.

stacy, I totally agree! (And you don't have to censor yourself in here, unless you want to!)
