Chat

I have added a chat room (from EveryWhereChat) here. Just click on the link, scroll down, change "guest" to your nickname and click "enter".

We'll need to email each other to find out when we can chat. I may not keep it if no one uses it or if spammers abuse it but I thought we might give it a go.

If you can't see it, you need to download and install Java.

Said Hi and all that. Timing will be the biggest obstacle. And I hardly ever know when I will have time.

It may be something we never use - but it's here if people want it.

At the moment anyone can use it. If that turns out to be a problem, it can be set to invitation only.

I don't mind if any of the regular readers use it to chat to each other, whether I'm around or not.

There are several blocks of time which are often available to me. But part of the chat area is off my screen. Not sure what I'm not seeing.

This sounds like an offer I may take up, seeing as we're both a la UK.

However — I've been registered with google chat for a while and hardly use it. Call me a curmudgeon..

Sorry about that, Bevie. I can't do anything about the size - that's the downside of using a free chat!

I don't use googlechat either, Whirl.

That's pretty cool. I've participated in blog chats before and it was really fun. Generally, the site owner would plan a time/date in advance, announce it (and leave a little announcement at the top of the blog), and then people would stop by during that time slot to say hi or discuss a certain topic. It was a great way to meet other people on a different level than just commenting. :)

That's a good idea, Jessi, I didn't think of that.

Maybe I need to work out when people might be around. I know on Evil Editor it's really tricky because we all come from such different time zones and I think we might have the same issue here.

Yeah, we've had that problem plenty of times before, too, because some of us are from the US and others are from England, New Zealand, etc. On one particular site I'm thinking of, she holds a chat once or twice every month and has them at a different time every time so that it works out for different people.

That's a good plan, I'll have to think about it.
