Ramster

We found Ramster gardens today. They only open in the spring and they're glorious: they had colours of rhododendrons that I didn't even know existed. Sadly, my phone* battery ran out so I can't show you the oranges, salmons and yellows. It was almost overwhelming. There was a lake, too, with baby moorhens.

I got a few photos and for some reason the best ones all had my Beloved in them.

*This phone has the same problem as my last one: if I don't charge it it doesn't work.

I think the best photos always have a Beloved in them. :)

Great garden, and it's (almost) within visiting distance. Now I've just got to get a car, and then the world opens up for me!

Jayne, I hope you get that car! The problem with Ramster is that it's only open till June 19th. We're not sure we can get back there this year!

Kitty, I have no idea but they were amazing!

TWC, a path going off into the woods always does look so inviting!

Spectacular! I wish I could hire someone to come put in some fabulous gardens on my property. And tend them. Brcause if I could do that, I'd be rich.

Curiosity got the best of me -- I had to look up what those ginormous leaves are: gunnera leaves. The Google images are astounding, but I bet the real life versions are truly overwhelming.

Phoenix, that would be lovely! Thanks for googling the plants. I had no idea what they were!

What a nice place! Too bad they're only open in the spring!

That looks beautiful. You got some great pics despite your, er, phone problems.

Lily, it is a pity! It might not be so pretty at other times but it would still be worth visiting.

stacy, thank you. I need a phone that doesn't need charging...

Your Beloved has posed for photos before, hasn't he?

Some say it's a skill, some say it's an art.

Y.B. makes it look effortless.

Whirl, I shall tell him!

If those huge-leafed things have spines on the stems and along the veins on the backs of the leaves, they have an particularly fine batch of them growing around the Reflecting Pool in the Bishop's Palace garden, Wells.

If anybody lives within striking distance of Somerset, a visit there is highly recommended. :-)

Richard, it's a very evocative name "the Reflecting Pool". Pity we live so far away.
